Understanding User Profiles

In general terms, a user profile simply refers to the collection of data that makes up a user’s individual environment, data including a user’s individual files, application settings, and desktop configuration. More specifically, a user profile refers to the contents of the personal folder, automatically created by Windows, that bears the name of an individual user.
