23.3 Getting to the Right Detail with Magnifixer
Large monitors are commonplace these days, and screen resolutions keep getting higher, allowing for clearer details and more colors. The tradeoff is that it’s getting harder to see details on a pixel level. Blacksun Software created Magnifixer to solve this problem. Magnifixer is a desktop utility that allows you to zoom in on your screen and see an enlarged portion of the area around your cursor.
Magnifixer can be useful in a variety of situations. It was designed with software or web site developers and graphic designers in mind—zooming in on your work (or someone else’s) can provide you with information that can be very hard to see with the naked eye. It can also be a real lifesaver for people with viewing disabilities. Web sites with very small text can be made readable with a few mouse clicks, thereby reducing eyestrain. Finally, Magnifixer is an indispensable tool for folks doing presentations, code reviews, or any work where an image is displayed on a screen.
