20.4 Working with Oracle Inside Visual Studio with Oracle Developer Tools

Database development with Microsoft’s SQL Server is greatly enhanced by the Server Explorer in Visual Studio 2005. From this tool window, you can quickly view or modify a table’s column names, add stored procedures, or browse the data in a table.

Now you can do all the same things with Oracle databases, thanks to the Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio .NET (ODT) add-in. ODT enables you to browse Oracle schema objects, view and edit table data, and run PL/SQL procedures. ODT also gives you serious database management and development tools, with wizards for maintenance and to generate code for schema objects.
