Summary

This chapter showed you how to wield a few of the Windows 98 system tools to help keep your machine trouble-free. I showed you how to create an emergency boot disk (just in case), how to use ScanDisk, and how to use some new Windows 98 utilities, including Registry Scan, System File Checker, Task Scheduler, and the Maintenance Wizard. The chapter also included information on preventing viruses from invading your system. I closed with a look at yet another new Windows 98 program: System Recovery.
