Display Settings: A Desktop to Call Your Own

You saw in the last chapter that you can use the Active Desktop to turn a ho-hum desktop into a veritable entertainment center. The Windows 98 desktop also boasts a number of other display settings that enable you to further customize the look of the Windows interface. To get to these settings, use either of the following techniques:

  • Right-click an empty area of the desktop and click Properties in the context menu.
  • Select Start | Settings | Control Panel and open the Display icon in the Control Panel folder.
