Simple Searches

Mail comes with an Instant Search box that appears above the message list. If you’re not fussy about what part of the message Find uses to look for a particular word, and if you already know which folder holds the message you want, you can use the Instant Search box for quick-and-dirty searches. Here are the steps to follow:

1. Use the folders list to select the folder in which you want to search.

2. Click inside the Instant Search box (or press Ctrl+E).

3. Type the text you want to use as the search criteria. Instant Search looks for the search text in the From, To, and Subject fields as well as the body of each message.
