Working with Email

If software programs can have inferiority complexes, the Mail app that ships with Windows 8 would be a prime candidate. After all, despite its prominence on the Windows 8 Start screen, Mail might just be the most underwhelming email client ever created. You can literally use the fingers of one hand to count the tasks you can perform with Mail: send new messages, read incoming messages, reply to a message, forward a message, and move a message to a different folder. Yes, that’s the complete list.

Obviously Microsoft is aiming Mail at beginners, (very) light email users, and people who prefer to use the Hotmail web interface. For the rest of us, the Mail app is clearly not a serious email tool.
