Closing a UDF Session

As we mentioned earlier, if you use the Live File System format, Windows 8 sets up a UDF recording session that enables you to leave the disc in the drive and add or delete files at will, just like a USB flash drive. However, while the session is open, you cannot use the disc on another computer, so you must close the session when you are done with the disc.

By default, Windows 8 automatically closes the current session when you eject a disc. If you prefer to control when the session is closed by hand, follow these steps to turn off automatic session closing:

1. In File Explorer, click Computer.

2. Right-click the optical drive and then click Properties. The drive’s Properties dialog box appears.
