Connecting Imaging Devices

Windows 8 can work with both digital cameras and document scanners and often identifies them by a single generic name—imaging devices—because both produce image files. Windows 8 comes with support for a variety of cameras and scanners, so getting your images from out here to in there has never been easier, as you see in this chapter.

To install an imaging device, you have two choices:

• If the device is Plug and Play–compatible (as the vast majority are these days), just connect the device and turn it on. Windows 8 should recognize the device and install the appropriate drivers.
