The Touch Tour

If your computer has a touch interface, there are several gestures you can make with one or two fingers that make quick work of navigating through Windows. (Yes, we’ve all been making certain finger gestures at our computers for years, but this is different.)

In the section “Navigating the Start Screen with a Touch Interface” in Chapter 4, we list the touch gestures in detail. Here, we just want to show you some basic navigation moves. Follow these steps:

1. At the start screen, touch the Desktop tile and keep your finger on it. Drag it to another location on the screen and release it. This is dragging.

2. Tap the Desktop icon. This is the same as a mouse click.
