Life Without the Start Menu

Working without the familiar Start menu takes some getting used to. As we mentioned earlier in this chapter, if someone doesn’t show you the ropes, your first experience with Windows 8, especially if there is no touchscreen, is likely to be wildly frustrating. We’ve been there, and we will show you how to keep your sanity, and even learn to love Windows 8 in Chapters 3 and 4.
