6.7. Use Metadata for More Powerful Searches
You can take advantage of the many file properties supported by Windows 7 to search for files based on the author, keywords, and other data.
In Windows 7, you can perform sophisticated searches by using a number of different properties. These file properties are called metadata because they are data that describe the data on your system — that is, your documents. Chapter 4 described how to add metadata.
For example, the Authors property specifies the name of the person (or people) who created a document. Similarly, the Tags property lists one or more words or phrases that describe the contents of a document. For music files, you can search on the Genre name, Album title, Artist name, and more.
