7.4. Disable an Internet Explorer Add-on

You can solve some Internet Explorer problems and make the program faster and more efficient by disabling one or more add-ons.

An add-on is an extra feature — such as a toolbar or a control — that does not come with Internet Explorer, but is installed separately. Although Microsoft makes some Internet Explorer add-ons, most come from third-party developers. Add-ons can be extremely useful and can enhance not just Internet Explorer, but also your surfing experience.
