3.11. Automatically Lock Your Computer

You can configure Windows 7 to automatically lock your computer after it has been idle for a specified time.

The previous task described how to lock your computer to prevent an intruder from accessing your desktop while you are away from your PC. The locking technique is easy enough to do, but the hard part is remembering to do it. If you are late for a meeting or other appointment, locking up your machine is probably the last thing on your mind as you dash out the door. If you later remember that you forgot to lock your computer, you may spend the next while worrying about your PC.
