Surfing the Web

The Web is both a network that connects computers and people across the world and a massive body of information, data, and services. The Web is where you want to go, and your web browser is what will take you there. This chapter is about two things: how to use your web browser to go places, and what you can do when you get there. You have several choices for web browsers: Internet Explorer (often just called IE), which comes with the initial release of Windows 7; and great alternatives such as Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera, and Google Chrome.
