Kerberos

The primary authentication protocol used within an Active Directory Domain Services domain. Kerberos requires all computers to be set to within five minutes of each other.

Key Management Service (KMS)

A service installed on a server for activation of clients in secure networks. The KMS server is used when the clients cannot activate over the Internet normally because they don't have access to the Internet. The KMS server can be used in any network with more than 5 servers or more than 25 clients and servers.
