The Start menu items are not in order

As you add new applications and add and remove items from the Start menu it tends to get out of order. Windows 2000 provides a couple of easy methods for sorting the menu.

Rearrange menu order

Here’s an easy way to sort the Programs menu in alphabetical order:

  1. Right-click the taskbar and choose Properties.

  2. Click the Advanced tab then click Re-sort.

  3. Click OK to close the property sheet.

You can also rearrange items in the Start menu manually. For example, using the Re-sort method just described doesn’t always give you the results you want. So open the Start menu and simply drag menus and menu items around to rearrange them to suit your preferences.
