Description
Wireless Link configures wireless network communications using an infrared device supporting the Infrared Data Association (IrDA) protocols. IrDA devices are detected and installed automatically using Plug and Play when they are connected to a serial COM port on the computer (laptops may have built-in IrDA ports).
Wireless Link opens a property sheet with different tabs. The key settings here are:
- General
Displays the properties of your IrDA device and indicates whether it is working properly.
- IrDA Settings
Displays the status, usage, maximum connection speed, and other settings of your IrDA device. These settings generally do not need to be configured, although you can try lowering the maximum connection rate if you are experiencing communications problems with your link.
- File Transfer
Sends files over an IrDA link and displays the Wireless Link icon in the system tray.
- Image Transfer
Transfers image files from a digital camera to your computer.
