Description

Regional Options opens a property sheet with six tabs. The key settings are:

General

Specifies your locale (combination of geographical location and language) and which language groups should be installed on your computer. Specify the locale before doing anything, as this automatically affects the settings available on the other tabs.

Numbers, Currency, Time, and Date

Configures conventions for displaying numbers, currency, time, and date information.

Input Locales

Displays the installed locales. If you have more than one locale installed, you can switch between them using an icon in the system tray (must be enabled) or a specified keystroke sequence. Note that this tab is also present in the Keyboard utility in the Control Panel (see Keyboard in this chapter).

Notes

Settings configured here are used by other Windows programs such as Word.
