Synopsis

A Group Policy Object (GPO) used for configuring local security settings.

Description

The Local Security Policy shortcut in Administrative Tools opens the security settings for the local computer in an MMC console window with the Group Policy snap-in installed. See Local Security Policy for background information and Local Security Policy for information on specific tasks.

Notes

  • A computer’s Local Security Policy settings are stored in:

    %SystemRoot%\System32\grouppolicy

  • Computers can have only one Local Security Policy object.
