Name

Domain Controller Security Policy — G,H

Synopsis

A Group Policy Object (GPO) used for configuring domain-controller security settings.

Description

The Domain Controller Security Policy shortcut in Administrative Tools opens the Default Domain Controller Security GPO for the domain in an MMC console window with the Group Policy snap-in installed. The entire GPO is not displayed, however. Only the policy subtree Computer Configuration Windows Settings Security Settings is displayed and available, allowing a quick way of configuring security settings for domain controllers in your domain using Group Policy.

See Group Policy for an explanation of GPOs and also Group Policy Objects (GPOs) for information on specific procedures relating to administering GPOs.

Notes

Modifying the Domain Controller Security Policy does not change the default security templates or any custom templates you have created.
