Name

logon script

Synopsis

Assign a logon script to a user account.

Procedures

  1. Place the logon script in the NETLOGON administrative share of any domain controllers that the user may log on to.

  2. Open the Active Directory Users and Computers console, select the OU in which the user’s account resides (typically the Users OU), and proceed as follows:

Select user account Action Properties Profile tab <logon_script_name>

Notes

  • You can also store logon scripts in a subdirectory of the NETLOGON share. If you do this, you must specify the relative path to the script within this subdirectory—for example, accounting\accscript.bat.

  • You can also implement startup, shutdown, logon, and logoff scripts using Group Policy.
