Remote Access Technologies

During the discovery and analysis phase, you need to consider several components to construct a solid RAS. Applying the International Standards Organization's (ISO's) OSI model to a RAS enables us to easily associate these components and their relative relationships. Table 16.1 describes many of the common remote access components and protocols as they relate to the OSI model. If you understand each component and their specific relationships, it is easy to identify which components you need and which components you already have.
