Planning for Coexistence with UNIX

Coexistence with UNIX is not likely to be an important aspect of the initial deployment of Windows 2000. Nevertheless, it is important that we address some of the issues that might be encountered when implementing Windows 2000 and Active Directory in a network environment that includes UNIX workstations or servers.

With the Microsoft Services for UNIX, it is possible to integrate Active Directory with directories based on Network Information Service (NIS).
