Appendix A. Windows 10 editions at a glance
Microsoft’s lineup of Windows 10 editions is refreshingly simple.
Consumers and businesses that acquire Windows on a new device or as a retail upgrade have their choice of two and only two editions: Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro.
On corporate networks, you have the option to enable additional features by upgrading to the Enterprise edition as part of a volume license agreement. At universities and other institutions of learning, administrators can enable advanced features by upgrading to specialized Education editions, which are, except for a few small details, essentially equivalent to the Pro and Enterprise editions.
