You will find that the communications portion of the APIs makes it easy to communicate with serial and parallel ports on your Windows workstation. At the same time, the communications API has all of the features necessary to control the many details that make modem communications so complex.
The API and the telnet port make it extremely easy to communicate with other machines supporting telnet servers on a TCP/IP network. For example, if there is a UNIX machine on your network, the telnet port available in the communications API makes communications with it easy.
