Chapter 11. Communications

The communications portion of the Win32 APIs handles both parallel and serial communications through the computer's ports. It also handles an interface to the telnet portion of the TCP/IP package, which you install in the Network applet of the Control Panel. Using the communications capabilities of Windows, you can talk to modems and other serial devices, printers and other parallel devices, and other computers acting as telnet servers on the network.
