1.6. Using the Microsoft Documentation

The 32-bit API comes with quite a bit of documentation. It is available both on-line and on paper. On paper it is referred to as the Win32 Program- mer's Reference books (five volumes). On-line it is in a help file named api32.hlp. The on-line version is generally much easier to use, because of both the hypertext links and the Search button (especially the NEAR capability), which lets you find any word in the entire file instantly.
