ORGANIZATIONAL COLLABORATION

You can easily find examples of projects that didn’t get far because one or two functional groups did not cooperate or were not engaged with the vision. Getting collaboration from all key groups in the organization is a critical factor for bringing your analytics implementation to fruition. In our case, while at Monster.com, we had meetings with the marketing, sales, product, and services teams to get their buy-in and support in the change management process of analytics implementation. We mobilized each group by getting the subject matter expert from each department to become involved in the process from the beginning.

Changes to organizational practices through process, metrics, incentives, and skills must be made to deliver the vision for the ultimate analytics customer experience. Continuous quality improvement through ongoing change management is the norm to bring about an analytics culture. This will ensure that the organization achieves the status of being considered an analytical competitor. Don’t start any analytics implementation if you don’t have the collaboration of other functional groups and key stakeholders.
