THE LESSON OF A FLOWER
I was talking to a flower yesterday while frantically running from the rain, trying to get into my car.
While I was struggling, the flower asked me, “Why are you running from the rain?”
I said I did not want to be late for work, and there was going to be traffic.
The flower asked, “Why are you rushing? You should be enjoying the rain.
“It is not going to harm you. It only gives you a moment of refreshment.
“Is this how you plan to spend your life, rushing and running from life's beautiful offerings?”
“I don't have time for this. I have to get to work,” I responded.
“See, there you go again. You need to stop and just look and enjoy the beautiful drops falling from the heavens. They are tiny gifts from God.”
Before I could say anything, the flower turned away and closed its petals.
I wanted to tell the flower it was wrong.
But at the same time I wished that I did have time to realize and enjoy the amazing surroundings life gives us.
