6.5. Why Bosses Sometimes Bypass Staff
Bosses seek many voices and viewpoints. It's a way to build the evidence necessary for better decision making and for identifying additional action options. But there is also a darker reason. Virtually every top executive I have counseled in my career can comment instantly on why they feel that internal staff or the current group of advisors falls short.
