5.3. Assess Your Verbal Skill

If your company can afford it or if you can afford it, and perhaps even if you can't, have a professional assess your verbal skill; the understanding you will gain is highly beneficial and sometimes essential. Coaches by the hundreds, perhaps thousands, are available to do this. Let me suggest a very simple "do-it-yourself" method to get started. You can make it more elaborate thereafter if you feel it's necessary.

Buy a handheld microcassette tape or digital audio recorder. Audio voice notes and cell phone recorders will not work, as the recording time is too limited.
