Surely one of the most crucial reasons people ultimately fail is that they give up too soon.

When it comes down to it, it’s giving up early in the attempt that is at the heart of failure. Not that the goal couldn’t be achieved. Not that it was too difficult. But simply because the person stopped trying far too early.

There are two reasons people don’t persist with goals. The first is poor self-image. Deep down they don’t have faith that they are capable of pulling off a great victory, so when they try, they do so in a tentative, half-hearted manner and are ready to give up at the first sign of difficulty.
