Comparing and merging packages

Package formats have been given some consideration in this version of Integration Services, which now makes it easier to compare your packages. This neater XML format also gives you the ability to merge packages that do not have conflicting changes.

By using XML, the format allows for a separate element for each property and the attributes are listed in alphabetical order so it is easy to find and understand the settings. Properties that have a default value won't be listed, while elements that appear more than once are now contained within a parent element.
