Summary

In this short chapter, we looked at what has been taken out of SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services. Then we learned to distinguish between the different types of reporting tools available to us, followed by a brief introduction to the possibilities of Data Alerts. Finally, we looked at the standalone Report Builder application and took a flying visit to the new rendering abilities for Word and Excel reports.

In the next chapter, we will take a look at some of the major new features in SQL Server Integration Services.
