About This Book

What Your Body Says (and how to master the message) is more than a book, it is a guide to an approach to life. My hope is that it will help you understand through simple, nonverbal steps that you can add impact to your words and influence and inspire others to establish trust and build solid relationships. Every interaction with someone is a form of communication. If you've already had success in communicating, you've probably been using some of these techniques intuitively. However, consider the wide range of behavior options you'll have at your disposal once you become consciously aware of what you are doing. You will be the master of your own message—not the other way around.

Your individual success depends on what you do to prepare yourself for interactions with others. Developing an understanding of nonverbal communication allows you to choose from a wide range of actions. Not every technique works for everybody or every situation, and every situation is different. My aim is to provide you with enough new ways to look at communication so that when one approach isn't working, you have enough tools in your toolbox to try something else.
