Learning What to Accept and What to Fight For

Throughout the interminably long year when Herb lost his sight, he and his parents alternately challenged and accepted what had happened. Herb started taking Braille lessons right away. “But I found reading Braille to be tedious. For me, memorizing was a lot easier,” Herb recalls.
