The book got a little attention, but it was hardly major news. After all, Alford had not been President Kennedy’s only dalliance. Judith Campbell, the reputed girlfriend of Chicago crime boss Sam Giancana, also claimed to have had an affair with the president. Others, both alleged and confirmed, include Jacqueline Kennedy’s press secretary, Pamela Turnure, movie stars Angie Dickinson and Kim Novak, and perhaps most famously, Marilyn Monroe.
