Geraldine Laybourne founded Oxygen Media and has served as its chair and chief executive officer until 2007. Oxygen was launched in 2000 to fill a void in the television landscape—creating a network targeted to younger women. Oxygen is the country’s only female-owned and-operated cable network, airing more original series and specials than any other women’s network.
