Viktor Frankl
Viktor Frankl (1905–1997) was a psychologist and psychiatrist who gained worldwide fame as the founder of logotherapy. This form of existential analysis is regarded as the “third Viennese school of psychotherapy,” alongside Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalysis and Alfred Adler’s individual psychology.
Frankl was born into a Jewish family in Vienna. After finishing school, he studied medicine, developing a strong interest in cases of depression and suicide. At the age of 15 he was already personally in touch with Sigmund Freud, and it was at this time that the two started corresponding. ...
