Vision

Many angels care more about the vision thing than anything else. For me, a vision is the reason your business exists. Every business starts with a belief. You should be able to finish the sentence, “The main belief I have about my startup is I believe . . .” The details of your response will probably make up the thesis statement for the vision you want me to communicate about your startup.

Books have been written on getting and communicating a vision. But for the purposes of the pitch, all I need to understand is why your Big Idea is so important. An undifferentiated notion of how a product might succeed does not qualify as a vision.
