Once a patient has been assessed and decides to enter a weight management program, goals for achieving a healthier body weight should be set. This chapter will discuss goal setting in the context of an entire weight management program as well as from an individual patient perspective.

Just as health is measured a variety of ways, success in a weight management program should also be measured using more than one approach.
