7.1. V3.02.x vs. V3.5 overview

The session support in WebSphere Application Server V3.5.1 remains very consistent with the WebSphere V3.0x implementations, including V3.02x. WebSphere Application Server 3.5.2 allows the Web developer to use the Servlet 2.2 specification.

WebSphere V3.5 (and V3.02x) in combination with e-fix PQ42166 eliminates session locking, and allows concurrent session access. Due to this change, the WebSphere forces the use of the session cache (regardless of the setting in the administrator console) when the e-fix is applied.
