Appendix B. Remote Sybase connectivity

The details in this chapter are specific to the ramifications of installing WebSphere V3.5 Advanced Edition, when the Sybase ASE database for the administrative database is located remotely. Not discussed here are the necessary operating system parameters or possible WebSphere component selection issues that are more general to WebSphere as a whole. The WebSphere InfoCenter documentation provides a comprehensive description for installing WebSphere V3.5 with Sybase V12, albeit all on the same system.
