9.4 STANDARDS

There are standards that govern the requirements of interoperability, earlier (since 2002) pioneered by WS-I (Web Services Interoperability), which is chartered to establish best practices for interoperability. As of mid-2010, it has merged with OASIS (Organization for Advancement of Structured Information Standards) which develops and maintains many widely adopted open standards including those related to interoperability.
