7.8 SUMMARY

The current version EJB3 has undergone many avatars before its present state today. EJB3 has been found to be far usable and adopted by many programmers. In fact it manifested as part of JPA (Java Persistence API) which is generic enough. It is being increasingly realized that there is now a good alternative to using ORM frameworks like Hibernate and even certain modules of Spring that JPA attempts to implement. The examples bring out the ease of backend design. Using annotations, it is much closer to a POJO, which has been the driving force behind the increased adoption of this technology by web designers and programmers.
