7.3 EJB VERSIONS

EJB has progressed through many versions since it was first introduced as EJB 1.0 and then progressed into EJB2. Currently, the version is called EJB3, which is a lot different from EJB 2.0 in terms of functionality and architecture. Historically, EJB1.0 was unusable to an extent that EJBs were discontinued to be used. EJB2 served some good purpose but was far from simple to use. However, the new avatar in the form of EJB3 is not to be missed as it greatly enhanced ease of use and applicability. This section emphasizes EJB3.
