5.6. Summary

This chapter introduced you to the <img> tag and the various graphic formats it supports. You also learned about image qualities such as transparency, interlacing, and animation, which can be used to make your image use more inventive and visually appealing. As you can see, adding graphics to a Web document is straightforward, but using them to increase the value and usability of your documents can be more challenging. Use this chapter as a basis for including images, but supplement it with information from Part II of this book for how to effectively position images within your documents.
