Summary
Non-functional testing is an extremely important activity in any service-oriented project. Performance, scalability, and usability are some of the key non-functional attributes expected from any application. In this chapter, we looked into the usage of soapUI to do performance tests of web services. First, we discussed why it is important to consider performance implications in an SOA. We proceeded with describing performance test planning of web services. Next, we looked at how soapUI can be used for various performance tests with our usual hotel reservation sample project. Finally, we discussed LoadTest-specific assertions provided by soapUI.
