16.4. Summary
From the outset, HP recognized that the e-service or web service phenomenon was a disruption in computing. Given the lack of established foundations for such an interaction environment, the e-Speak technology was a strong and comprehensive software offering to support the dynamic discovery and invocation that characterized this chasm. As e-Speak evolves into HP’s Web services platform, there are likely to be more shifts and adjustments in the industry that will require HP and other vendors of web services to be flexible and quick to adapt.
